This publication and the associated 'Prescriptions by GPs’ have been discontinued. In order to improve clarity and coherence, a single new prescriptions statistical release has been published. This publication contains data on items prescribed by GPs at British National Formulary (BNF) chapter, section, sub-paragraph and drug level. Data on prescriptions dispensed in the community (previously the main focus of this release) are included as supplementary data.
