Progression Project Partnership
Winner
The Progression Project was delivered by a partnership of three voluntary sector youth organisations across South Wales working together, sharing their experiences, expertise and skills, yet located in very different communities: Cwmbran Centre for Young People (Torfaen), Tanyard Youth Project (Pembrokeshire) and the Ethnic Youth Support Team (Swansea). It supported the most marginalised and disadvantaged young people into education, training, volunteering and employment including self-employment.
Young people and staff from different backgrounds came together to train together, plan community projects, experience joint activity days and produced an engaging evaluation film and rap. Positive outcomes included young people gaining confidence, achieving qualifications, becoming peer mentors and securing employment.
The judges felt that this was an excellent piece of work which showcased partnership working at its best.
