Equality Street - Monmouthshire Youth Service

The Equality Project started life as an LGTBQ+ group but evolved into broader equalities group to cater for the needs of more young people.
Engagement with this project has helped young people find a safe space they can relax and be themselves and to help their peers and the wider community. It has given them confidence to work together to produce Gwent’s first young person’s pride event which was attended by more than 750 people.
The judges felt this project demonstrated excellence in creating an inclusive space from which young people were able to plan and run campaigns for equality.
