The general licence for gatherings of poultry has been revoked. As of 10 February 2025, gatherings of poultry are no longer permitted in Wales. This includes;

  • galliforme birds (including pheasants, partridge, quail, chickens, turkey, guinea fowl)
  • anseriforme birds (including ducks, geese, swans);
  • birds that are reared or kept in captivity for the production of
    o    meat or eggs for consumption
    o    the production of other commercial products
    o    for restocking supplies of game, or
    o    for the purposes of any breeding programme for the production of               these categories of birds.

Gatherings of other birds may still take place, provided the conditions of the General Licence for Captive Birds are met.
