Nineteen-year-old Stella Vasiliou has demonstrated that future career prospects are not necessarily defined by school examination success.
Stella, who lives in Barry, is crafting a promising career as a carpenter with The Vale of Glamorgan Council having initially studied art and design at Cardiff and Vale College for a year.
Through training provider ACT Training, she discovered a range of career options including construction. She completed a Level 1 Traineeship in Construction in just seven months and a work placement at The Vale of Glamorgan Council led to an Apprenticeship in Carpentry, delivered by Cardiff and Vale College.
“I would like to prove to others who are leaving school that grades aren’t everything,” said Stella. “You can be successful in other ways.”
