I welcome the Children’s Commissioner for Wales annual report 2021-22, which includes 16 recommendations for the Welsh Government.

I am today publishing our response to each recommendation. I am pleased we are able to accept or accept in principle all of the Commissioner’s 16 recommendations.

The annual report reflects the final year of Professor Sally Holland’s term as Children’s Commissioner for Wales. I would like to thank Sally Holland for all the work she has done for children and young people during her term as Commissioner. I would also like to welcome the new Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Rocio Cifuentes, and I very much look forward to working in partnership with her over the coming years.

This response underlines our continued commitment to children’s rights in Wales. We are proud of our record of promoting children’s rights and our commitment to ensure all children have the best start in life and are able to fulfil their potential.
