Members will wish to be aware of a new web-based toolkit I am launching today to assist community groups considering the acquisition of community assets for sport, arts and cultural purposes.  The toolkit provides advice and sources of funding and information that are specific to the sport, arts and cultural sectors.  It is designed to equip community organisations with the knowledge and information to successfully take ownership of facilities that are of local significance and value.

The sector specific toolkit will complement the work of the National Asset Working Group (NAWG), established by the Minister for Finance and Government Business, and the overarching guidance that is being developed to support the wider Community Asset Transfer agenda and to support a step-change in enabling communities to play a more active role in service design and delivery.  This guidance will be published in March.

The toolkit can be found online.
