On 8th October, I made you aware of a UK wide supply problem affecting the provision of diagnostic kits and reagents supplied by the pharmaceutical company Roche.  I provided a further update on 20th October with reassurance that my officials had coordinated actions to secure a robust supply chain through the acute phase of the disruption.

Roche have subsequently confirmed that business as usual has resumed, and that all NHS customers in Wales are receiving deliveries according to standard service.  A thorough lessons learnt review is being conducted by the company which will be shared for our consideration and review.

Roche are now finalising preparations for the transition from the EU on 31st December.  I have been assured that their pre-emptive multi layered plans will effectively mitigate any potential impact to clinical services.

Welsh Government will continue to work with suppliers so that their preparations provide resilience to support our health service in the continuation of key services to our patients.
