Today I have agreed to publish our 2015-16 annual report in relation to the Welsh Governments Strategy on the Welsh Language.

The policy statement A living language: a language for living - Moving forward, published in August 2014, gave specific focus on our priorities as a Government over the final three years of the strategy which ends in March 2017.  This report therefore summarises our achievements with regards to those priorities, and thereby contributing to the six strategic areas of A living language: a language for living.

The report this year also reports on the latest developments with regards to the Welsh-medium Education Strategy, reflecting the close relationship that exists between the two strategies, and an indication of my intention over the coming year to develop a new vision for the Welsh language which straddles education and language use.
