In February 2012 I commissioned John F McClelland CBE to undertake a review of the effectiveness of Welsh procurement policy.
I am pleased to welcome the conclusion of the review and am today launching the full report and recommendations at the ‘Open for Business’ event in Llandudno.
The Procurement Policy Statement will be published in the autumn, taking this work forward in conjunction with the Public Service Leadership group to secure the level of commitment needed from all to maximise the effectiveness of Welsh procurement policy for the benefit of the economy and citizens of Wales.
This statement is being issued during recess in order to keep Members informed. Should Members wish me to make a further statement or to answer questions on this when the Assembly returns I would be happy to do so.
