On 3 September 2012, I issued a consultation on reforming how school term dates are set for all maintained schools in Wales. I am today 16 April 2013 issuing a summary of the responses to the consultation.

This consultation provided details on the proposals for reforming how school term dates are set for all maintained schools in Wales. My officials will continue to work with key stakeholders as proposals are developed to harmonise school term dates.

These are important changes and part of the package of reforms I intend to bring forward for education through legislation later in this Assembly term.
