On 1 February, I tabled in the National Assembly the Annual Budget for 2011-12.

In my written statement which was published alongside the Final Budget 2011-12, I referred to two important documents which would be published this week in relation to our spending plans.

First, I said we would be publishing a full equality impact assessment document on our Budget proposals.  This is the first time the Welsh Assembly Government has published an Equality Impact Assessment as part of the Budget process. It is a step beyond our statutory requirements and is a marker of our determination to continue to strengthen and improve our approach.

Second, in the context of the Efficiency and Innovation Programme, I confirmed that we would be publishing further information this week on the development of the measurement framework showing the progress being made across the public sector on savings that can be achieved.
