We welcome today’s announcement by the UK Government that a National Day of Reflection for the Covid pandemic will be held on Sunday, March 9th 2025.

Building on the recommendations of the Commission on Covid Commemoration, a Day of Reflection will take place annually on a Sunday in early March, with people and organisations across the UK encouraged to take time to reflect on or around this day.

In 2025, the Welsh Government is working with the UK Government and other devolved governments to ensure that the day is marked appropriately, with the expectation that by 2026, a new Covid Memorial Trust will lead on commemorations.

As details around the Day of Reflection for 2025 are finalised, the Welsh Government will be using our channels to ensure that individuals and communities have the information they need to mark the day in a way that is appropriate to them.
