On 10 November 2017 the British-Irish Council Summit was held in Jersey.  The Summit was chaired by Chief Minister, Government of Jersey, Senator Ian Gorst.

Following the death of former Welsh Government Minister, Carl Sargeant AM,  I wrote to the Chair conveying my apologies that the Welsh Government would not be fielding a Ministerial delegation to the Summit. My senior officials were in attendance to observe proceedings.

The key discussion points of the Summit were published in a joint Communiqué
