I wish to update Members of the Senedd on the number of full and balance BPS payments, which will be made tomorrow, 9 December.
90% of claimants will receive their full or balance BPS 2022 payments tomorrow. Over 14,400 Welsh farm businesses will receive payments worth £62.5m, in addition to £161m paid as BPS advance payments on 14 October.
RPW has once again made an impressive number of BPS payments at the start of the payment window and these payments will provide some financial certainty to farm businesses during these challenging times.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank industry stakeholders who have once again worked closely with my officials to deliver the excellent number of BPS payments
My officials will continue to work hard to process the remaining outstanding BPS 2022 claims as soon as possible. I expect all but the most complex cases to be completed by 30 June 2023.
