Working together for a better Wales

Why the Welsh Government?

Here at the Welsh Government we are working to help improve the lives of our citizens. Our aim is to help the First Minister and Welsh Ministers to build a fairer, more equal and greener Wales.  A prosperous, healthy, ambitious and united Wales for our citizens today and the future generations of tomorrow.

With around 5000 staff based across our nation, we’re getting closer to the communities we serve.

As a member of our team, you will have access to:

  • a highly competitive salary and benefits package
  • 31 days annual leave (full-time and pro-rata for part-time)
  • 10 privilege/public holidays (full-time and pro-rata for part-time)
  • a generous Learning & Development offer
  • flexible & home working arrangements

Who can apply?

We have a significant number of priority roles that need to be filled.

This is a great opportunity to make an impact by bringing your valuable and unique lived experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to the Welsh Government.

You will be able to develop your capabilities by being involved in a wide range of critical work (such as post COVID-19 recovery work and Delivering Brexit) and by working with a wide range of partners e.g. local authorities, private companies and third sector organisations.

The roles appointed to via this scheme could be in all areas of Welsh Government work, but particularly across policy development and delivery, programme and project management, finance, operational delivery and digital, data and technology.
