Unique reference number

On submission of the parent application, a unique reference number is generated and displayed on screen. This will also be emailed to you. Please keep this safe as you will need it for all correspondence with your local authority.

Local authority review

Your application will be reviewed by the relevant local authority within 10 working days.

When the local authority has reviewed your application, you will receive an email to say an update has been made to your Childcare Offer for Wales account and that you should sign into your Childcare Offer for Wales account with your Government Gateway ID and password to check. All notifications and any specific information from your local authority will be displayed on your dashboard.

If your application is approved you must create an online Agreement reflecting the Offer-funded hours to be provided by your childcare setting.

Select a childcare setting

Once your application is approved the funding is not in place until you have created an online Agreement with your chosen childcare setting, and the setting has approved this online. These steps must be completed for the funding to be claimed by the setting.

Once you have agreed Offer-funded hours to be provided by your chosen setting you must create an online Agreement on the Childcare Offer for Wales portal.

Even if your child was accessing childcare at the setting prior to being eligible for the Childcare Offer for Wales, you will need to create an online Childcare Offer for Wales Agreement for funding to be claimed by the setting.
