Rebecca Godfrey Chief Operating Officer
Rebecca leads the Welsh Revenue Authority's (WRA) approach to services.
Rebecca joined the WRA in 2017 as the Chief Strategy Officer. She played a part in developing the tax authority's unique approach to managing tax as part of the senior leadership team. She also helped shape its first corporate plan.
Rebecca is now Chief Operating Officer. She fronts the delivery of Our Approach, supporting people to pay the right tax at the right time. She’s also leading the WRA’s work on designing and delivering future services, championing user-centred design.
A qualified tax professional, Rebecca has extensive knowledge of UK tax administration. She spent more than 10 years working for HM Revenue & Customs. Before this, she held positions at the Legal Services Commission and Companies House.
Raised and educated in Cardiff, Rebecca has spent most of her life and career in Wales. She’s passionate about people development. Women into leadership is one of several government talent initiatives she's supported.
