In total, 3,990 students in further education (FE) applied for a Welsh Government Learning Grant (WGLG) in 2023/24, an increase of 3% on 2022/23. Of these 3,070 applications were successful, an increase of 2% on 2022/23.
This resulted in £3.4 million being paid out in WGLGs to FE students in 2023/24, compared to the £3.3 million that was paid out in 2022/23.
2,810 of successful applications were from full-time students and 255 of successful applications were from part-time students.
