The report:
- identifies key barriers and enablers in volunteering approaches to tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people
- illustrates the key enablers and barriers, using case studies and available literature
- sets out an outline Theory of Change illustrating how programmes have the potential to reduce loneliness and social isolation among older people
- provides a framework for the future self-evaluation of programmes to add to the available evidence base.
