Research to understand how learning disability housing support is structured across Welsh local authorities, including what is funded and why.
This is the latest release
The overarching findings were:
- there is inconsistencies in how learning disability housing support is funded across Wales
- participating local authorities are confident they were commissioning eligible housing related support work working towards it
- some local authorities are still dependent on Supporting People Grant funding to help fund supported living or adult placement schemes
- spend is impacted by historical Supporting People settlements and the pace of change since 2013 (and the introduction of new Supporting People Grant Guidance)
- based on the information collected during this research, it is mostly fixed support that is funded (86%) with 13% of spend relating to floating support
