Financial Inclusion Strategy for Wales 2016

Our Financial Inclusion Strategy, published in March 2016, is a universal strategy developed with an external advisory group. The Financial Inclusion Delivery Plan was published in December 2016.

It sets out how we aspire to work with partner organisations, both within Wales and at the UK level. It is focused on 3 core themes:

  • Access to credit and financial services
  • Access to financial information, including debt advice
  • Building financial understanding and capability.

3 ways we promote financial inclusion are:

  • support for advice services
  • support for credit unions
  • the Discretionary Assistance Fund for Wales.

The financial inclusion strategy links with many of our existing strategies and action plans, including Tackling Poverty, Child Poverty and the Information and Advice Action Plan.
