Technical Advisory Group: advice to Cabinet for the weekly COVID-19 review 15 December

This advice was drafted based on the available evidence at time of writing from both Welsh and UK level advisory groups and was assembled at pace to support policy colleagues and Welsh ministers. The purpose of scientific advice is to provide an overview of what we know and what can be inferred indirectly from the evidence base or by a consensus of expert opinion. As a result of the rapidly developing situation regarding Omicron there was still uncertainty when this paper was submitted and this was caveated in the advice. Subsequent advice from TAG, submitted before a formal policy decision was made and considering additional emerging evidence such as Wales-specific NHS modelling from Swansea University.
