Tomi Roberts-Jones
Nominated for Sport award
Tomi is a school student from Cardiff with cerebra palsy. He is an inspirational young person who has excelled in the field of sport and athletics specialising in the 100m and long jump.
Tomi has overcome both personal and sporting challenges to get himself to the position he finds himself today as Commonwealth Youth Champion in the Para 100m Sprint. He has been on an upward trajectory in the world of sport fuelled by his consistent dedication to training and his recent performances over the 2022/2023 season.
Tomi was recently rewarded with a place with Team Wales for the Commonwealth Youth Games which saw him win an historic Gold Medal in the Men’s T38 100m with a PB time of 13.27 seconds. This was the first time any paralympic sport was included in the Commonwealth Youth Games.
With this victory Tomi has written his name into the sporting history books.
Tomi deals with the challenges that his disability presents with unwavering resolve and always has a positive outlook. He welcomes any challenge and is role model for people of all ages.
