Noah Herniman
Nominated for Young person award
Noah is a 17 year old performing arts student who lives in Chepstow. In 2021, Noah was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour which saw him endure months of gruelling treatment, but despite this he attends full-time college and also undertakes fundraising activities.
Prior to diagnosis, Noah had raised £25,000 for various charities, taking on numerous tasks, which included scaling Pen- y -Fan to raise funds for Wales Air Ambulance, abseiling off the Newport Transporter Bridge raising funds for Bullies Out, including countless walks, runs and bake sales.
April 2022 Noah decided he wanted to be able to provide a place for families to create memories whilst undergoing gruelling treatment for cancer or other serious illnesses. He raised enough money to purchase a holiday home ‘Noah’s Retreat’ which is now being run by Kidscancercharity. This will help up to 80 families make precious memories during a very difficult time.
Noah has also set up a project called ‘Make Someone Smile’ where 7,000 easter eggs have been donated to Cyfannol and Llamau. During the last 12 months he has also raised money for Noah’s Retreat and is always busy raising awareness for brain tumour research.
