ELITE Supported Employment

ELITE Supported Employment is a social enterprise empowering disabled and disadvantaged people across South, Mid and West Wales, supporting them to live their best lives.

ELITE supports hundreds of people every year with vocational opportunities, training and employment. As well as helping people find work in the private sector, they created trading arms including ELITE Paper Solutions and ELITE Clothing Solutions that have created much needed jobs in the south Wales valleys.

The business was created when young disabled people were expected to leave school and enter day care provide by the local authority. At that time day services were designed to provide a safe environment for disabled people and provide respite for carers. The founding CEO and Directors knew that providing work for disabled people would allow them to grow as individuals and have a level of independence that day services would not allow. Since founding ELITE, it has provided opportunities for thousands of disabled people from providing training and support, getting them into employment and helping people to remain in work.

Andrea Wayman founded the business in 1994 and has grown ELITE to employ 125 people with a turnover of just under £4 million. She was instrumental in setting up the businesses trading arms and winning contracts from the public and private sector.
