New relationship energy can feel overwhelming. Step away from the ‘new message’ button and read out top tips:
- Realise the person you're texting might be busy. Don’t expect them to respond if they are doing something else.
- Chat with other friends. Talking about something unrelated can provide a great distraction.
- Get some exercise. Physical activity lowers stress levels and will take your mind off your phone.
- Stop expecting a reply to every text. If someone doesn’t respond it doesn’t mean they didn't appreciate what you said.
