Original consultation

We are seeking views on whether the code of practice provides sufficient guidance on how to meet the separation requirements for the forthcoming non-domestic recycling regulations.

Consultation description

We are introducing new regulations that are expected to come into force on 6 April 2024 and require all non-domestic premises (including businesses, and the public and the third sector) to separate key recyclable materials in the way the majority of Wales householders already do.

The purpose of this Wales-only consultation is to seek your views on the code of practice (“the code”) and whether it provides sufficient practical guidance on how to meet the separation requirements set out in the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011 (as amended, including to be amended by the proposed Waste (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2023).

See the related active consultation: proposals for enforcing business, public and third sector recycling regulations in Wales associated with these regulations.

See the related closed consultation: Increasing recycling by businesses.
