The School Environment Questionnaire (SEQ) is administered in School Health Research Network member schools every two years, alongside the Student Health and Wellbeing Survey.
This is the latest release in the series: Student Health and Well-being Survey
It collects data on school policies and practices related to health outcomes. It is completed by a member of senior school staff on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
The 2020 SEQ was completed online by a total of 167 out of 213 (78%) secondary school sites across Wales in January to March 2020.
The main report presents overall data on a wide range of questions included in the SEQ.
The research paper on school preparations for curriculum reforms presents data from the SEQ on maintained schools’ perceived levels of preparedness to deliver the Curriculum for Wales, focusing in particular on preparations to deliver health and wellbeing education. The research paper provides a snapshot of the situation in early 2020, a few years ahead of national roll-out.
