EU state aid rules no longer apply in Wales (except for the ongoing awarding of residual EU funds).
A comprehensive free trade agreement between the UK and the EU came into force 1 January 2021. We will provide guidance on the new subsidy regime in due course.
The UK follows World Trade Organisation (WTO) subsidy rules and other international commitments.
