The review included two research phases. Phase 1 identified existing, publicly available data relating to the culture sector in Wales.
Overall, 39 data sources were identified which met the search criteria.
Phase 2 included an analysis and mapping exercise of the of the sources identified.
The review concludes with a summary of relevant data gaps and limitations found in the available data.
Across the five sub-sectors, there is variation in how data is reported and collected.
Where data exists at a UK level, it is not always possible to disaggregate at a Welsh level.
There exists a good quantity of data relating to the workforce of the culture sector. However, the availability of quality evidence does vary.
All five subsectors provide data on the level of engagement in cultural activities by members of the public. Some detail is provided in terms of protected characteristics and demographic profile of visitors and users.
