A study to assess the work of the Community Support Officers (CSOs) and gauge their effects in making communities safer and their residents feel safer.
This is the latest release
The overarching aim of the study was to estimate impact and how this has been achieved, and to identify lessons learnt.
The study presents an assessment, before and after the CSOs have been deployed, of the direct and indirect effects they have had in relation to their intended objectives, and any other effects identified during this assessment. More specifically, the analysis attends to:
- the policy that was designed and its intent
- how the policy has been implemented strategically and operationally
- the impacts that can be attributed to it in terms of public perceptions and experiences of crime, disorder and safety.
