The review informs actions and next steps for the professional registration of the Childcare, Play and Early Years (CPEY) workforce.
This is the latest release
The review was carried out over three phases and included desk-based research, interviews with key stakeholders in Wales/other administrations where a registry is in place or being set up and a stakeholder engagement workshop.
The main aim of the review was to provide an independent view to inform Welsh Government actions and next steps for the professional registration of the CPEY workforce.
There are three key themes to the findings:
- defining the workforce and who should be included in a registry
- practical elements of a registry
- qualifications and continuous professional development
The review offers recommendations set out in three stages for the Welsh Government to consider in taking forward the professional registration of the CPEY workforce in Wales.
