We want your views on proposals to reduce crime and poor performance in the waste sector.
Consultation description
We are consulting jointly with the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs on proposals that would:
- raise the standard of operator competence across all permitted waste sites by strengthening the regulator’s assessment and enforcement powers
- reform the waste exemptions regime
- introduce a fixed penalty notice for householders who fail to transfer their domestic waste to an authorised waste carrier or waste site.
