The survey demonstrates that public attitudes to science and technology are generally very positive.
Statements with the highest levels of agreement were those which related science with Wales’ economic prosperity and growth.
Around a third of those interviewed did not feel well informed about science.
The importance of science education was highlighted among the public. The vast majority of interviewees would like to see more Welsh Government investment in scientific research and education. Most interviewees also viewed young people’ interest in science as important for Wales’ future.
Comparisons were made between this research and surveys from other countries, which had the same questions. Generally, there were similar levels of agreement and disagreement across these surveys.
