Education Secretary Kirsty Williams has given the green light to £15m of investment to construct new buildings for Croesyceiliog school in Cwmbran (Weds 21st Dec).
The new school will be able to accommodate 1,200 pupils who live mainly on the eastern side of Cwmbran. The project will cost £30m in total with Torfaen Council providing the rest of the funding.
Croesyceliog school forms part of the £86 million investment that has been earmarked for school building improvement in Torfaen through the Welsh Government’s £1.4 billion 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.
Kirsty Williams said:
“This new funding will mean Croesyceiliog school will get a £30m new building providing the most modern facilities for pupils and the best environment possible to learn in.
“We are determined to continue investing in our schools as part of our drive to raise standards.”
