Launch of a feedback survey on proposed indicators for the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) 2025, and opportunity to sign up for webinars.
This is the latest release
We are seeking views on our proposed indicators to include in the next WIMD. The next index is intended to be published in autumn next year (2025).
The feedback survey will be open for response for 5 weeks and closes on Monday 16 December 2024.
You can find our proposals for indicators to feed into WIMD 2025 and a link to the feedback survey in the report below.
We are seeking views on what indicators to include in each of the 8 domains in WIMD. The survey covers:
- proposed changes to some existing indicators included in WIMD 2019
- potential new data sources and indicators
- how to prioritise the potential new data sources
We will be holding some webinars giving an opportunity for anyone interested to hear about our proposals in more detail and ask questions. These will be held on:
- Wednesday 20 November, 10:15 to 12:00, English language webinar
- Tuesday 3 December, 10:15 to 12:00, English and/or Welsh language webinar
To sign up for a webinar, please e-mail stats.inclusion@gov.wales specifying which one you would like to attend. Please include your name, organisation and job role (if applicable). We will then be in touch with more information on how to join the webinar of your choice.
For the 3 December webinar, to comply with the Welsh Language Standards, and to ensure that you receive the correct service, please let us know whether you would prefer to use Welsh or English during the webinar.
If at least 10% of those attending from outside the Welsh Government wish to use Welsh on 3 December, simultaneous translation from Welsh to English will be made available at the webinar. To allow us time to arrange this service, we are unable to include any language preferences received after 18 November when considering whether simultaneous translation is required.
