Pembroke Dock Community School, Pembroke Dock
Pembroke Dock Community School came together to create a whole school topic ‘Don’t hate, educate’ in response to local incidents of racism and issues that pupils had seen on a national and international level.
Planned by using the new Welsh Curriculum, the topic involves pupils, parents and the wider community to promote empathy. As a result, pupils now challenge injustice and are encouraged to take social action.
Now more than just a topic, ‘Don’t hate, educate’ has created a huge culture shift across the school which has continued with empathy for all forming part of the school ethos.
