In preparation for the UK Government’s Procurement Bill and the Welsh Government’s Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Bill, we have developed a pre-implementation checklist to help contracting authorities in Wales prepare for the new rules.
The checklist identifies potential areas that contracting authorities should start thinking about now, to ensure they are prepared and able to take advantage of the increased flexibility and transparency associated with the new rules. To access the checklist, visit the Sell2Wales website.
Transparency
As the Procurement Bill continues its legislative journey through the House of Lords and the Senedd, we have been considering the effect of the UK Government’s transparency proposals and their impact on the Welsh public sector.
We have created an information sheet which outlines our plans for taking the procurement digital action plan forward and the potential opportunities arising from the changes.
Procurement Reform at Procurex Wales 2022
Carl Thomas, from our Procurement Reform Team, and Sue Hurrell from the Social Partnerships and Fair Work team, will be hosting a range of sessions at Procurex Wales. The event takes place at the Cardiff International Arena (formerly the Motorpoint Arena) on 8 November. The sessions will aim to provide practical guidance and support on several important areas of the Bills, including the Socially Responsible Procurement Duty and the new Procurement Procedures and Tools, as well as a session aimed at helping suppliers prepare for the new rules.
The presentation slides from the sessions will be available in the Procurement Reform section on Sell2Wales after the event.
