Pre-release access to Welsh Revenue Authority official statistics

The Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA) is named in The Official Statistics (Wales) Order 2017 as a body that produces official statistics, as defined by the Statistics and Registration Services Act 2007.

The Head of Data Analysis for the WRA grants pre-release access to WRA statistics.

Pre-release access provides access to statistics in their final form before they are published. The rules governing who and why pre-release access is granted are set out in The Pre-release Access to Official Statistics (Wales) Order 2009.

Each of the recipients named on the pre-release access list signs a declaration confirming:

• they require access for their official functions
• they will comply to the conditions of pre-release access

Pre-release access to WRA statistics is provided 24 hours before the statistics are made publicly available.

Pre-release access is also given to a small number of people who are involved in producing the statistical publication. This includes:

• WRA statisticians
• translators
• secretaries (who have access to a mailbox of a recipient listed below)
• web publishing teams

Those who receive access for production purposes sign similar declarations, but they are not included on the list below.

We publish and regularly update the following list of positions which have pre-release access to WRA statistics. This is in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics.
