Temporary workers and supply teachers

Customers using our temporary workers and supply teachers framework for their temporary worker requirements, should be aware of imminent changes to the government’s Employers National Insurance (ENI) charges.

The 2 main changes being introduced on 6 April 2025 are:

  • The rate of employers National Insurance contributions will rise from 13.8% to 15%
  • The weekly earnings threshold at which employers start paying ENI will decrease from £175 to £96

These changes will result in an increase to ENI costs, and subsequently the total cost of engaging all types of workers.

Changes to the Class 1 National Insurance Contributions Secondary Threshold, the Secondary Class 1 National Insurance contributions rate, and the Employment Allowance from 6 April 2025 on GOV.UK
