Maintaining distance can be difficult for some people like those with sight loss or mobility difficulties. It may also be particularly important to people who have been shielding.

The Distance Aware initiative

The Distance Aware initiative promotes the need for ongoing distancing for all.

Badges and lanyards are available that signal to others around you that they need to pay attention and give you space. Wearing a badge of lanyard is a personal choice and is not necessary in law.

All badge/poster templates are available to download (along with design guidelines and a comms pack for organisations). You can also find links to places where you can get badges or lanyards.

The Distance Aware initiative has been endorsed by Welsh Government, as well as the Department of Health and Social Care in England. It is also supported by the Bevan Commission.
