On 1 April 2025 there were 8 new members appointed to the Arts Council of Wales (ACW).
The new members are Emily Bamkole, Wesley Bennett-Pearce, Ffion Haf Evans, Elid Morris, Sarah Pace, Joshua Robertson, Amanda Morgan Thomas and Nan Williams.
ACW members are responsible for setting the aims and objectives of the Arts Council for Wales and for ensuring that these are aligned to the Welsh Government’s strategic priorities.
Their roles, which are voluntary and unpaid, include ensuring that both Welsh Government and National Lottery funding is invested effectively across Wales to support the Arts.
Welcoming the new members, Culture Minister, Jack Sargeant, said:
I am pleased to announce the appointment of 8 new members to the Arts Council of Wales. The recruitment process was rigorous and each new appointee will bring their own individual skills, knowledge and expertise to Council. I am pleased to see a robust council that can meet the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead.
Maggie Russell, Chair of ACW added:
ACW is delighted to welcome eight new members of council at this exciting time for the Arts in Wales. We celebrate the range of diverse talents and the wealth of experience that they will bring to ACW and look forward to our journey together.
