First Minister Carwyn Jones has visited the new headquarters of GM Jones Ltd (GMJ) in Llanrwst
GMJ is investing £1.3m in their new Llanrwst headquarters which has been supported by £400,000 Welsh Government investment through the Wales Economic Growth Fund.
The expansion will enable the construction company to create 40 jobs and safeguard a further 46. They currently employ over a 140 staff.
The company acquired land on Parc Ty Gwyn from the Welsh Government to build their new 13,700 sq ft premises and the recent investment by GMJ has resulted in other companies investing on site.
Following his visit, First Minister Carwyn Jones said:
“Welsh Government funding is playing an important role in helping GMJ to expand. This is a great example of how we are investing in the industry to maximise opportunities and support growth potential. Construction is a key sector in delivering a vibrant economy in Wales and I’m pleased the investment in a new headquarters will create employment and safeguard further jobs.”
GMJ Commercial Director Jenny Hudson said:
“We are experiencing on-going growth and our new premises will be vitally important for the business – enabling us to realise our growth potential, providing us with the resources and space to expand. The support from Welsh Government has enabled us to go ahead with this investment and planned job creation.”
