Jonathan Smith Managing Director of Axis Management Consulting

Axis Management Consulting helps food businesses to succeed with the UK’s grocery multiple retailers.

Prior to launching Axis in 1996, Jonathan held a variety of marketing and commercial posts in St Ivel, RHM, and Procter & Gamble.

From 2004 to 2008, he served as Non Executive Director and Chairman of Ilchester Cheese Company. With a £30m turnover, the company supplied both own label and branded products to major retailers. He led the board through the successful sale of this business to Tine BA, the leading Norwegian dairy producer.

From 2019 to 2021, Jonathan was Non Executive Chairman of Innovative Cheese Company. The speciality cheese producer requiried a sales-led turnaround, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
