Horizon Europe is the largest ever transnational programme supporting research and innovation. Run by the European Commission until 2027, it has a budget of £100m.
As well as supporting vital and pioneering research, it will also allow Wales to remain an active and influential partner.
As a confirmed Associated Country, applicants from Wales can apply as if from an EU member state, with some limited exceptions. Welsh applicants are eligible for European Innovation Council grants, but not for equity.
The UK’s association to Horizon Europe is explained in the Q&A’s on the UK’s participation in Horizon Europe.
