The Fair Work Commission held its third meeting on 25 October 2018.

The Commissioners talked about the progress with the Call for Evidence which would run until 19 November.

Commissioners and the Independent Expert Adviser provided updates from their areas of activity.

The group talked about current and future engagement activity in terms of business events and public sector engagement that had been arranged and which needed to be set up.

The Commission’s engagement activity with various private sector and public sector representative organisations was useful as it increased awareness of events and the Call for Evidence.

A discussion on fair work covering private and public sector perspectives helped to frame fair work in these contexts and provide early indications of sector specific issues.

The Commission gave consideration to how it might respond to the Call for Evidence through:

  • follow up meetings with some stakeholders in December and January
  • developing an approach to the collation, analysis and presentation of evidence
