The evaluation was specifically focussed on the projects effectiveness in establishing national reviews of child death.

The aim being to identify preventable factors that can lead to improved safeguarding of children in Wales, and in setting in place a system to identify child deaths in Wales on a thematic basis.

Overall, the project was seen as a valuable process by all stakeholders interviewed as part of this evaluation. A number of areas for improvement were also identified.

The report makes 5 recommendations about the future of the project.
