The National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006 & the Directions to local health boards and NHS trusts in Wales 2009 give legal effect to amending the arrangements for the funding of technology appraisal guidance from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), dated 23 October 2003, for technology appraisal guidance (no. 164) on the use of febuxostat for the management of chronic hyperuricaemia in people with gout dated 17 December 2008.
