We want your views on our proposal for the introduction of a deposit return scheme (DRS) for drink containers.
Consultation description
The proposals aim to:
- tackle littering
- further increase our levels of recycling
- reform how the UK manages packaging waste in the future.
- help us move to a more circular economy and becoming a zero waste nation by 2050 as set out in our Beyond Recycling strategy.
A parallel consultation is taking place on proposed extended producer responsibility scheme for packaging waste.
